Terms of service
Last updated: September 27, 2026. Short version: we monitor public sources and send you alerts. You stay responsible for the decisions you make with them.
1. The service
ClerkWatch watches public data sources and sends alerts when they change. We are a monitoring service. We are not a law firm, an accounting firm, a compliance consultancy, or a security vendor providing attestations.
2. Accounts
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your login secure.
- Unlimited teammates are included on every plan, but the account owner is responsible for their use.
- One account per organization. Agencies that resell the service need a reseller agreement.
3. Plans, billing, and refunds
- Setup is free. We do not invoice you until you have received alerts through the trial period and chosen to keep the plan.
- Monthly plans, billed in advance. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change with 30 days notice.
- Early customers keep the price they signed up at for as long as the account remains active.
- Cancel any time. The plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
- First payments are covered by a 30-day money back guarantee. Email us and we refund it, no interrogation.
- Custom source work that has already been delivered may be excluded from refunds, but we will say so before you pay for it.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use ClerkWatch to harass anyone, to monitor individuals for stalking or domestic surveillance, to build consumer reports, to make credit, employment, insurance, or housing decisions about people, or to break any law. We will terminate accounts that do, and we cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
5. No professional advice
Alerts, reports, and summaries are informational. They are not legal, financial, tax, or compliance advice, and they are not a substitute for a licensed professional. Deadlines and requirements can change after we send an alert. Verify anything important at the source link we provide.
6. Security monitoring authorization
For security monitoring such as external attack surface checks, you must own the target or hold explicit written authorization from the owner. By adding a target to your account, you confirm you have that authorization and you indemnify us against claims arising from it.
7. Availability and accuracy
We work hard to keep sources healthy and alerts accurate, but we do not guarantee completeness, uninterrupted service, or that every change is detected. Sources are third-party and can change without notice. Our combined liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.
8. Intellectual property
You own your watchlists, your data, and the alerts we deliver to you. We own the service, the pipeline, and the source registry. Public source content remains the property of its owners and is linked, not republished.
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or attempt to abuse the service, and we will refund the unused portion when the termination is not your fault.
10. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email existing customers before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
